Sand Wash Basin Wild Horses in Bronze by Curtis Zabel

Limited Editions

When the Community Foundation of Northwest Colorado formed in 1998, they had a dream, and part of that dream included a vision for a Wild Horse Park in Craig, Colorado. With that in mind they commissioned Curtis Zabel a well-known local bronze sculptor to create 6 wild horse bronze pieces. Although the Wild Horse Park has not come to be, Curtis Zabel did create 6 original wild horse bronze mantel size sculptures. These wild horse bronze sculptures were inspired by the wild horses of Sand Wash Basin.

The Community Foundation of Northwest Colorado is the fiscal agent for Wild Horse Warriors for Sand Wash Basin, (WHW) and have helped us with many of our endeavors. When WHW received permission to install the fence along Highway 318 the Foundation offered us the bronze sculptures as a way to raise money for the fence.

Each bronze sculpture is signed and numbered. There is a limited number of each sculpture available. They will be made to order once we have received the full payment. We will pay wholesale prices for the sculptures and the remaining proceeds will be split between the The Community Foundation of Northwest Colorado and Wild Horse Warriors for Sand Wash Basin.

Each piece will be individually featured for sale for a short period of time.

The bronze sculptures are on display at the Craig Chamber of Commerce

You may read more about Curtis Zable in the following article. He has been commissioned for many large sculptures, including the huge beautiful bull elk in the park in Steamboat Springs.
